Page 7 - Flyers, Brochures and Come Back Cards.

Howdy and Welcome to my blog.

Page 7 - Flyers, Brochures and Come Back Cards.

* Try to have brochures about your work with pictures and a short bio about your self and info like your business name, your name, phone no., website, blog, etc.

* Make sure that you have some kind of holder for your brochures, flyers and business cards so that you can look professional. But if you find that the cost is a little more than what you want to spend on a flyer stand than I would suggest finding a nice clean color rock as a paper weight or something with a weight to it.

* Also when you are at a art shows, make sure you have some flyer of your future art show that you are attending. You could make up some with the name of the event, address, phone no.,and any important information that you would like your customer to know about. But hopeful the show will have some for you to hand out.

* Make sure to place your brochures, flyers and business cards where customers can see them in you booth. Plus when you make a sale always place your information in their bag along with there purchase.

* Come Back Cards are something new and most artist don"t know about them.

When I have a someone come up to my booth and look around to see something that they like but what to look around I will give the customer a Come Back Cards with my booth no. to try and keep my booth in their mind.

Dose this always work? Someday great other not so good but I will always try and keep my name in the forefront of a  customer mind.

Page 6 - Label your art work

Howdy and welcome to my blog.

Page 6 - Label your art work

* Label each price of art work on the front side so that your customers can see how much your work cost.
Most customers do not like to ask the artist for a price for it makes them feel uncomfortable.

* Have some professional business made. But if you are just starting off, make some nice home made business card with a good quality paper.

My suggestion on this is that you put your business name (if you have one), your name, phone no.,website (if you have one) only.

Example:

* Also create a artwork book. I call mine a journal of my art work. For more info check out...
http://creationbyjdfields.blogspot.com/2014_06_01_archive.html

When you enter any art show remember to always take a picture of your work just in case something happens to it or it could get stolen. Having a picture will help the police and or the Insurance Co.

An artist once told me to make sure that my work was cover by my Insurance Co. I told her that I could not cover my work for it was to costly. She told me to check with my insurance agent to see if my home insurance policy would cover my work. She also told me to NEVER ASSUME ANYTHING but to always ask when you are not sure.

Howdy and welcome to my blog.

Page 5 - Get Some New Ideas

I get ask all the time as to how do I set up my booth or space?

Where do you get your ideas?

Will I get my ideas by...

* Meeting other artist and take a look at how they have their space/booth set up - Get ideas!

* Don't be afraid to as question. Most artist will be more than happy to share where they get there supplies.

* If you see something that you would like to use in your space/booth,  ask the artist if you could have a sample. (IE take a photo of the space/booth, card, flyer, etc.)  Nine times out of ten the artist will help you out.
That's what I did for this price card that an artist made.

* When you are on the net or a Magazine take a good look at how they have thing set up. Get some idea!

Until next time, Happy Creating and God Bless

Page 4 Don't be Negative but be Positive.

Howdy and welcome to my blog.

Page 4 - Don't be Negative but be Positive.

* The fastest way for you to turn a customer away is for them to see you sitting in your space/booth on your cell phone, texting, taking selfy, being shy, having a group of friends/family hanging around your space/booth, talking to friend, leaving your space/booth alone, reading a book, not paying attention to the folks coming in, and the list goes on.

* But what you need to be is positive and smile. Always greet the customer with a Hello and invite them into your space/booth and ask them if they are looking for a gift or are they just enjoy the show?
If they just looking around than talk about your work. Folks like to know something about the artist and their work.

* Remember to take a brake every once in a while and move around. Don't sit in the same place hour after hour, this dose not look good to the customer. It is tell them that your artwork is not worth looking at.

*  Just remember that you will not make a sale at every show you attend but it could take a season or more before the sales start coming in. Just know that customer what to know that you are going to be around so that if they want to buy more artwork from you, they know were to find you.

This is call paying your dues.
