It's tax time again.

                                                     All,

WOW I can't believe we are in March now. Where has the time gone.

I know it's been a while since I last blogged but it seems that in Jan my laptop decided to take a swim in a cup of tea while I was working on Leslie Saeta "30 Painting in 30 Days" Challenge. Needless to say I did not get to far with the challenge...

But thank God I still have my old computer and I'm just now am able to get back on my blog page again. I had to find a back door to my blog page to be able to work on it again.

Well this month I would like to talk to all of u new artist and craters out there.
I just talk to my tax man and did u know that u can take ur hobby (if u make any sales on it) off on ur taxes?

I have been painting for years but started making sales in 2011.

In 2012 I ask my tax man about my art sales and could I take it off on my taxes.

This is what he told me...

that u can take off...

1. Art Assoc Dues

2. Booth Fee for Art Show

3. Juried Show Fees

4. Art Sales

5. Art Sales Tax’s

6. Office Supplies

7. USPS/ Postal

8. Art Donation

Note: u can only take what is cost u to create the work.

10. Art Supplies

11. Always put the Grand Total $  after each group of items. i.e.
Art Assoc Dues, Booth Fee for Art Show,Juried Show Fees, etc.

12. Mileage for Art Supplies, Meetings , Shows, etc.

Name the supplier - Miles - Days - Total

---------------------------------------

For u craftier just take this list and tweak it to fit ur type of work.

What I like to do is type up all my info on my art each month and place it on my computer so at the end of the year I can just total everything up, print it out and hand it to my tax man. It is as simple as that.

Well I hope this little tidbit helps some of u for next year.

Until next time, Happy Creating and God Bless
